A Note on the RESOPilot–Cardo Patent Case
What happened in Europe, what the June 2026 ruling means, and what it does not.
We have had questions from riders, creators, and partners about the patent proceedings involving RESOPilot and Cardo in Europe. Because legal updates are easy to oversimplify, we are keeping this one close to the court record.
Here is the status described in the June and July 2026 UPC orders.
A note on the brand context
This update concerns patent proceedings involving RESOPilot products sold as RESOPilot Neo and RESOPilot Pro in the court record. The purpose of this post is simply to explain the procedural status for riders and partners who have asked about it; product information and legal status are separate questions.

What happened?
Cardo brought European patent proceedings involving RESOPilot Neo and RESOPilot Pro and obtained a provisional injunction from the Milan Local Division of the Unified Patent Court in November 2025.
RESOPilot then asked the court to review that provisional measure.
The patent at issue, EP 4 240 194 B1, concerns a fastening device used with head-protective gear.
What did the court decide in June 2026?
On June 18, 2026, the court reviewed the injunction and concluded that it was more likely than not that there had been neither literal nor equivalent infringement of the patent.
Because infringement had not been shown to the level required for provisional measures, the court revoked the November 2025 injunction in full. The court also awarded RESOPilot Group €28,000 in interim costs and ordered the seized products to be released, subject to the order becoming final.
Is the case over?
No. The June ruling concerned the provisional injunction; it was not the final resolution of the broader patent case.
The main proceedings continued, and Cardo appealed the June decision. A later UPC order dated July 29 confirms that the June ruling had been appealed.
Why are we posting this?
The reason is straightforward. Riders and partners have questions, and the facts should be easy to find.
We are not interested in turning a legal proceeding into a competitive slogan. Our focus remains the product: building it, testing it in the real world, and giving riders enough information to make their own assessment.
